Video Editing & Production for Nonprofits
Program and impact films, beneficiary stories told carefully, appeal videos for campaigns, and short cuts for donor communication.

What nonprofits are dealing with
The situation: Every dollar spent on overhead is scrutinized, and donation conversion is the whole game. Storytelling video and photography, a donation flow that works, accessible communications, and annual report design.
Timing and approvals
- When the work happens
- Built around the end-of-year giving season and around specific campaign dates.
- Who signs it off
- A communications lead with program staff confirming the story is represented fairly.
The constraint that shapes it
Consent and safeguarding govern what may be shown, particularly with children and vulnerable people, and they override the edit.
Most states require charitable solicitation registration before you fundraise in them, and online giving can trigger it in states whose residents you target or whose donations arrive regularly or in volume. The multistate Charleston Principles set out how regulators usually read that. The IRS governs written acknowledgment and quid pro quo disclosure for contributions, and a program that receives federal funding takes on accessibility obligations under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. This is a practical note, not legal advice.
What goes wrong, and what to do instead
Avoid: Telling a beneficiary story in a way the person would not choose. Informed consent for a fundraising film is a different thing from consent to be filmed.
