Image Editing & Retouching for Food and Beverage

Color and gloss work that keeps food appetizing without making it look artificial, packaging and label legibility, and consistency across a menu or range.

What food and beverage are dealing with

The situation: Appetite appeal sells, but the photograph has to be of the product somebody actually receives. Food photography and retouching, packaging visuals, recipe and process video, and social-first vertical cuts.

Timing and approvals

When the work happens
Seasonal menus and promotional cycles, usually fast turnaround against a campaign date.
Who signs it off
A brand or marketing manager, with regulatory review on anything showing a label.

The constraint that shapes it

The FDA governs label content and the FTC governs advertising claims, so an edited label that misstates the product is a regulatory problem, not a design one.

FDA labeling rules govern nutrition panels and claims, and the FTC polices advertising. The long-standing principle in US food advertising is that the product shown must be the product sold — props and substitutions are a well-trodden route to trouble. This is a practical note, not legal advice.

What goes wrong, and what to do instead

Avoid: Editing food until it cannot exist. Steam added to a cold dish and gloss added to a dry one both read as false, and both are advertising claims.

What it costs

Image editing & retouching work starts at $0.39 per image with us. The pricing page puts every rate next to what the US market typically charges, and a quote turns the range into one number for your volume.
